MST Torah #492

 Temple Or Rishon is honored and humbled to share our commitment as custodians of MST Torah #492.  This Torah is one of a number of Torahs collected from the town of Domazlice in Bohemia which is now part of the Czech Republic.

As custodians of this sacred Torah, Temple Or Rishon commissioned Sofer Neil Yermin to restore the scroll so that it can be used in the religious life of our community.  It is housed in our Aron HaKodesh (Holy Ark) as we give it the scroll life as a source of inspiration for TOR and beyond.

The Temple Or Rishon community welcomed the scroll on February 2, 2025 in a beautiful service attended by our community, holocaust survivors and survivor families, local area Rabbis and local dignitaries. 

Our annual Memorial Service for the community of Domezlice will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 7:00pm
